Favorite Trails of The Bicycle Tourist

Bicycle touring is a passion of mine. And, even though I haven't done a "long distance" touring, I have developed a love for riding trails that have been established for moterless modes of transportation, such as a bicycle.

I would like to share with you some of my favorite trails to ride:

M. C. Trails - Madison County Transit.

This favorite trail of mine is located in and around Edwardsville, Illinois, in Madison County. This site is your guide to the MCT Trails system a free, family-friendly recreation and transportation option for Madison County Illinois residents and visitors. It is our hope that with the aid of this site, you will explore the MCT Trails by bike, by rollerblade, or on foot, discovering the landscapes, cultural institutions, historic neighborhoods and unique communties that make Madison County an exceptional place to live and work.

The Katy Trail

The Katy Trail is one of the great trails of the midwest. The Katy Trail is actually designated a state park, which is 225 miles long and only wide enough for the trail and the right-of-way. The trail is crushed limestone and has many options for riding, camping and lodging along the way. Check it out!
